2012 October Cider Sundays at Bowens Mills:

Sunday ~ October 7 ~ Senior Citizens Day ~ There will be Fall Related Activities, 20th Century Military Living History, Cider Pressing, Cornmeal Grinding Demonstrations, Horse Drawn Rides, & live music by Charlie Burgstahler & Friends. Senior Citizens get a $2.00 discount on admission.
 
Sunday ~ October 14 ~ Fiber Art Day ~ There will be 18th Century living History that included Revolutionary war & French and Indian war era, Spinning Demonstrations, Cider Pressing, Cornmeal Grinding Demonstrations, Horse Drawn Rides, & live music by Jerry Ball.
 
Sunday ~ October 21 ~ Children's Day There will be a Display of Quilts in the Gathering Place, Living History Encampment as well as fall related activities though out the park, Cider Pressing, Cornmeal Grinding Demonstrations, Horse Drawn Rides, & live music by: Double Strung ~ Blue Grass. Children 12 and under get in FREE with adults.

 

~ Civil War Commemorative Weekend ~
Saturday & Sunday ~ October 27 & 28 Noon to 5pm
There will be a large encampment of Civil War living history, along with a full schedule of events that includes military & artillery demonstrations.  There will be a battle at 3pm both days.  Also included in your admission: Cider Pressing, Cornmeal Grinding Demonstrations through out the day, Horse Drawn Rides, live music Saturday by: Glen Guarisco and Friends ~ Bluegrass Band and Sunday by: Chuck and Cathy Rysenga ~ Folk and Americana

ALL CIDER TIME EVENTS INCLUDE: Free Horse Drawn Wagon Ride with admission, Cider pressing demonstrations on the 100+ year old water-powered cider press, stone ground corn grinding demonstrations on the huge mill stones, Pioneer Farm with animals, along with live music, many other history related activities. The "It’s Cider Time Events" are from noon to 5pm.  Gate fee is $5.00 for adults, children 12 years and under $3.00. Hours are Noon to 5pm.
